My three-week adventure with the Laika Space Dogs as a high-schooler
Hola, Gente!
¿Cómo estáis? Yo estoy muy bien.
I’m Inara and I would like to share with you a bit about my internship experience with the Laika space crew.
A bit about me
First, a bit about me. Most people call me Ina, and I’m a 14-year-old student who loves swimming and drawing. I also love listening to music and meeting new people, in my free time. When I'm bored, I go out with my friends, or I go watch a movie. During the summer break, I enjoy traveling a lot with my parents. I regularly go back to Spain to meet my family and friends with my mother, and I really enjoy exploring new places across the world with my father.
Finding the spaceship
I found the Laika spaceship internship through my mother, who told me it would be a great opportunity to learn about the job. She also thought it would be a good fit, because I love to write in different languages, enjoy social media, and love to meet new people. After working here for a few weeks, I think I maybe would like to choose a career path in this area—PR/comms—so I think it was really great that I could do this internship.
What I like about Laika
I like that Laika is a young company that's focused on being and staying a great company. Working with the Space Dogs was a big plus as well. During my time with the Laika Space Dogs, I learned about PR basics, how to write a blog post, about researching, and I really liked the Laika crew, the office, and the opportunities I had to learn about the job.
The time in the Laika spaceship was great. I didn’t just get normal tasks, but I got interesting and instructive tasks. I really think that I had the best time and I learned a lot. I was glad I met the crew, and happy that everyone was super nice—welcoming me warmly. I’m going to miss being part of the crew.
Nos vemos pronto!
