The Brief
The world is changing, and companies need to change with it...and become more agile. With that in mind, we introduce Next Matter: the new, all-in-one software solution for operations teams. Manual operations are time-consuming, expensive and prone to errors. That's why Jan Hugenroth developed the no-code automation platform Next Matter: to centrally organize and automate all operational processes, and get rid of spreadsheets, emails, chats and unnecessary meetings.
Let’s talk PR! Late February 2021 Next Matter came to us with the mission to ramp up their visibility and position them as one of the key players in the operations automation market. In addition, we were tasked with helping them develop their brand image, as well as educating the media and markets about the advantages and need for no-code process automation. After revising key messages, developing a thorough first PR strategy and identifying key media targets, we started putting together different pitch angles, and writing stories for tech, business, and market-specific media.
The Campaign
We kicked off our collaboration with an introductory pitch which aimedto introduce the founder, Jan Hugenroth, the Next Matter platform, their vision and the technology. In addition, it was important for us to define what “operations automation” actually means. In fact, the biggest challenge was explaining the concept of operations automation, and to what extent it affects us and our daily work. What sounded like a “boring” story first, became actually a quite “sexy” media angle in the end. After all, operations are the heart of any business. And the heart deserves its decent share of attention. To achieve this, we targeted different media outlets and podcasts with unique story approaches and interview opportunities, such as:
Next Matter: the control center for all operational processes, the heart of every operations team
All in One: How companies can meaningfully automate their operations processes end-to-end
5 things I can’t work without, with Jan Hugenroth
Furthermore, in order to re-enforce Next Matter's expert voice, we repurposed some of their English blog content and adapted them for thought leadership pieces. Among other things, these were features specifically for fintech and insurtech sectors, which resonate well with the platform's customer base. These included:
Daily greeting from office routine - How automation creates new freedom
Operations Automation 101 - What is it, and when do I need it?
Which automation tool fits your fintech?
The three most important trends in the insurtech scene
Altogether, we were able to secure several exclusive contributions, including pieces in tier-1 tech media such as t3n and targeted trade publications like It-daily and das Investment. Finally, Jan Hugenroth had the opportunity to present the platform and his vision for operations automation in two podcasts: D25 and FutureCandy. In total, we secured 13 publications for Next Matter and reached over 3,8 million readers.
" Next Matter gives operations teams a home system of their own that isn’t their email inbox – it’s a completely different way of carrying out business operations. To successfully market this kind of technology it requires a shift in the way people think about how work gets done, and Laika helped us to identify, communicate, and amplify that message to the audiences that really care about it."
