The brief
Paris-based startup Kymono, is a startup outfitter and more importantly a “Culture Designer” for young and high-growth companies. Launched 2017 by Olivier Ramel with a friend in the textile industry and the entrepreneurs network The Family, Kymono combines fashion and corporate culture in one. Their mission: helping startups to express their values & culture through personalised clothing, accessories and office design.
“Team is key!” - This is the core value behind Kymono as it should be for every growing company. Employees are ambassadors for the brand and corporate culture. We had the pleasure to work with Kymono for their launch in the German market, to build brand awareness and most importantly, to establish Kymono as “Culture Designer” and expert for employer branding and corporate culture topics. Mostly because nowadays fulfilment and meaning are the most important criteria for new talents to choose or stay in a job. Therefore, we aimed to position Kymono as the expert and partner to strengthen team spirit.
The campaign
To launch the Kymono Showroom in Berlin and present their products and services to the audience, we rolled-out a PR launch campaign with an event at the Family Berlin space. For that, we mainly focused on local and business media outlets in Berlin to tell the success story of Kymono and it’s founder Olivier Ramel, who founded his fifth company by the age of 26. Following that operation his story was featured in outlets like Startup Valley and t3n.
One of the challenges was to explain the idea of “Culture Designer”. So we developed in depth content pieces with the Kymono team and HR verticals to give companies advice on how to create a meaningful corporate culture today. We wrote content on relevant HR questions like: “How to grow without cultural chaos”, “Corporate culture: 5 typical mistakes and how to avoid them” or “What employer branding has to achieve today?”. That's how we addressed modern ways to create a corporate culture and manage expectations on both recruiters and talents side. On these issues we mainly aimed to reach out to the decision-makers and HR professionals.
Last but not least, Kymono had a lot of insightful knowledge to share on leadership and how to build a startup. That’s how we came to work with the Startup Notes podcast on “why a strong company culture is key”.
