Why in the Universe Are We Called Laika?
Needless to say, we gave a great deal of thought to what to name the agency when creating Laika. What would best reflect our spirit? What would best stay with people?
In the end, we chose Laika. And behind this name is a great story about exploration, curiosity, and passion.
Yet, not everyone knows the origins of our name, so we decided to survey our clients and partners and ask: “Why do you think we are called Laika?” We have to admit, we had some great laughs reading some of these answers. And since sharing is caring, we thought we’d share the gems with our community, so they can laugh with us.
So… Why Laika?

“Ela K. -> (pronounced) anagram. Maybe also the name of the office dog!”
Not quite, but very poetic, we should hire you to be part of our creative team! And our little VP of Happiness is actually named Zelda, FYI!
