8 German media outlets geared towards women in business you should know about

The publishing world of media is changing every day. Some media outlets have been in Germany for many years, while others are completely new. Lately, more and more women decide to start their own business, and that of course also has an impact on the media landscape. This list (in alphabetical order), will introduce you to eight German media outlets geared towards women in business that you should know about — especially if you’re a businesswoman.  

  1. Brigitte

Brigitte is the largest women’s magazine in Germany, with almost 8 million monthly visitors online. The magazine focuses on beauty, relationships, health, finance and more. They feature many inspirational stories about strong women.  Besides the regular Brigitte magazine there is also “Brigitte Woman”,  which focuses on women over the age of 40. The magazine was launched in 1886 with the name “Das Blatt der Hausfrau” and was renamed to “Brigitte”  in 1949. This makes it one of the oldest German magazines still operating today. 

2. Courage

Courage is a magazine with articles about career, money, validation, and a variety of lifestyle topics. Courage was the first finance and career magazine that primarily targeted women. The idea behind the magazine is to encourage women to take their finances into their own hands, take the daring steps to implement their business ideas, and take their careers to the next level. 

3. Edition F

Edition F is an online magazine that highlights multiple lifestyle topics such as family, career, politics, style, and more. They also offer events from time to time, and have an online shop for their merch: “The future is equal”. They also consult companies and clients, helping them develop ideas, and support them in design, brainstorming, and content development. Edition F does not only tell the stories, they participate in making them relevant to their readers. Right now they have over 200,000 monthly readers.

4. Emotion

Emotion offers articles about psychology, finance, work and career, beauty, and other lifestyle topics. They produce the EMOTION podcast as well as host women-empowerment events such as their EMOTION Women’s Day. They have almost 300,000 online readers a month, with a main target audience of women between 25 and 49. The magazine aims to motivate and inspire women who want to take control of their lives, careers and further develop themselves.

5. Her Money

Her money is the largest independent financial portal for women in Germany. It gives independent expert advice to women from women. Her Money offers articles and tips on money and career topics. They also offer webinars, podcasts, academic events, and opportunities on their social media channels. They encourage their readers to take personal responsibility for their financial future, and they break down complex topics and concepts.  They currently have around 200,000 online readers a month.

6. SHEconomy

SHEconomy magazine aims to help women take control over their careers, and their finances, and to sometimes take risks. On the SHEconomy website, you can find many articles on finance and career development. Strong women are featured, sharing their insights about how they first started and how theyachieved their goals. They aim to motivate and support women.

7. SHE Works!

SHE Works! Is an online portal and monthly magazine that aims to motivate women to take a step into self-employment. This magazine provides information about important networks, support programs, and important dates, as well as information on starting a company , management, family management, and pension planning. SHE Works!’s website features a section where female founders  share their experience and knowledge with readers. 

8. STRIVE Magazine

STRIVE is a business magazine for women. STRIVE readers can benefit from business stories, and articles about career development, finances, psychology, and lifestyle. STRIVE also offers masterclasses, workshops, and more exclusive articles to their subscribers,  focused on business development and life skills.
